We purchased this pub (formerly The Weyside), in September 2009 and closed
it at the start of November for refurbishments. We have now turned it
back into a traditional pub offering great food and drink. To mark the
change and reflect its location, we have renamed it The Boatman and importantly,
it is now a Free House. Situated just outside the centre of Guildford
and with terraces right down to the rivers edge, it continues to be the
perfect spot when the sun shines. But, following the refurbishments at
the start of November it now has a cosy and comfortable interior which
makes it an ideal location come rain or shine.
There is an extensive food menu, served right through from 12 noon to
9.30pm, with pub classics as well as dishes suitable for a quick snack
or light lunch, or even pre-theatre suppers. We are less than a 5 minute
walk from the Theatre.
We recognise that first and foremost The Boatman is a pub and our Free
House status gives us the chance to offer a range of great real ales,
one of which will be served directly from the cask. We will also offer
an interesting range of wines, draught ciders and soft drinks. Walk in
Wi-Fi available.

Monday to Saturday, 12 noon to 11pm, food until 9.30pm
Sunday, 12 noon to 10.30pm, food until 8.00pm
